Join an award-winning, professional photographer and native Londoner in this mini urban/street photo workshop that is set around various underground stations in London. This experience gives you the opportunity to photograph some of London’s most photogenic underground train stations, including some lesser-known subways & a DLR station most visitors may not have thought about visiting at all.
- Gain local insights from a London born local expert
- Let Linda take you beyond the usual tourist path by visiting some of the lesser known stations that most visitors are unaware of and show you her favorite spots for getting the best angles.
This experience is for anyone with a passion for street photography, candid moments, as well as a love for city architecture and interior design. If you want to take more artistic and creative street photos centered around London’s most interesting underground stations then this is meant for you.
We will start the experience in the famous London Station Hotel bar over drinks. Linda will provide an overview of the workshop and show you examples of what kind of photography to expect along the way by sharing some of her portfolio.
A sample tour will include looking at architecture, taking photos of tourists and commuters, but then also going on the tube and capturing candid shots on the platform and on the train. We will be visiting a variety of interesting stations whether that’s because of the interior design, the buskers, or a viewpoint perfect for capturing candid photos.
Along the way, Linda will provide tips on creative angles, camera techniques & compositions to help you nail your shots, think outside the box and experiment with creative suggestions.
We will then end the experience in a cafe/bar to recap the session and critique our photos(if you choose to).
St. Pancras International/Hotel – The Booking Office Bar.
A small mirrorless camera with a wide-angle lens is preferred for good compositions. Preferably with a wide minimum aperture minimum, i.e. F1.4 to F3.5 for low light locations.
Medium – We will use the subway to connect between stations, however, a significant level of walking will be involved including some stair climbing.
Please avoid bringing tripods as these are not permitted to be used in London stations. Participants should have a basic knowledge of camera settings. Aperture, ISO and Shutter speed. Bring an extra battery.
Please note: that a TFL One Day Travel Card (zones 1- 4) will be required for this tour. This cost is not included in the tour price. The approx. cost for this card is £13.10 ($17.00). If you are in London for 7 days or more it is cheaper to buy a 7-day travel card.
