Tom Bowden (TBow)

Street photographer, NBC News photographer, and 30 years of worldwide image production experience

Tom Bowden’s love of street photography began in his childhood and continued while studying photojournalism at the University of Austin in the 1970s.  His first professional film and photographic work appeared on NBC Television when he took a job at the local Austin NBC affiliate. Later, as owner of T.Bowden Productions, his photographic and documentary experience continued for over 30 years, working with clients worldwide.

“TBow’s” street photography has been exhibited in group and solo shows and his current work can be viewed on Instagram, his website, and as a featured LensCulture Artist. He’s known for his “inimitable style” due in part to his ability to quickly connect with the street people he photographs. “When working on the streets, I often use my “people skills” in an attempt to turn subjects into willing participants. Gaining someone’s trust can tell a deeper story about their life and their image.”

Tom is passionate about reaching out to some of the people he photographs, often offering help if needed. He is closely involved with organizations who offer assistance with alcoholism, drug addiction, and homelessness.
